What is special about our Lewis chairs?
Our Scandinavian retro chair "Lewis" follows the example of its original design and offers quality in material, clarity in form and reliability in seating comfort. arne Jacobsen designed the POT CHAIR for the Hotel Royal in Copenhagen in 1959. And wherever the chair was placed, whether in the conservatory, in the bar, next to the lift or on each floor, it became a popular meeting place for extended conversations.
The high-quality faux leather upholstery in the warm earthy colours of brown, dark grey and green is robust and easy to clean and also gives the chair class and a flair of conviviality and belonging.
The ergonomically shaped seat shell made of flawless polypropylene is equipped with 2 cm thick foam padding with a firmness of 32, so that you can actually sit comfortably on it for hours.
The powder-coated metal frame in a geometric design guarantees stability and a really high load-bearing capacity of up to 250 kg.
The plastic glides on the feet ensure that the chairs stand securely and can be moved without scratching. We recommend felt glides for tiles. These are not included

- We use the highest quality PVC artificial leather.
- The benchmark for quality is the surface and thickness of the artificial leather.
artificial leather with a PVC surface is of high quality, very robust, highly light-resistant, very easy to clean and therefore very durable and long-lasting. This makes our faux leather ideal for intensive and long-term commercial use. Our artificial leather is made up of 2% PU, 83% PVC, 15% PES.
The thicker the leatherette, the more stable and durable it is. We use 1.2 mm thick artificial leather.
Thin artificial leather: < 0.5 mm. Very stretchy and soft. For clothing and light shoes.
Medium-thick artificial leather: 0.5 - 1 mm. Much stiffer and more stable than thin synthetic leather. For bags, purses and sturdier shoes.
Thick artificial leather: > 1 mm. Quite stiff, but also very robust. Mainly for upholstered furniture, interior panelling of cars and boats.
Our quality criteria for foams:
- We use high-quality foam with RG30 SH50.
The
- yardstick for quality is foam density (stated in density RG) and compression hardness (stated in Pascal)
- Foams with a high density are significantly more resilient, which means that few to no cavities form even after long periods of use.
Foam thicknesses:
- RG20 - RG 30: 20 - 30 kg/m3 = minimum quality for back cushions and soft seat cushions, soft (inexpensive mattresses), dog cushions. Durability 1 - 2 years
RG30 - RG40: 30 - 40 kg/m3 = standard to superior quality for seat and back cushions, mattresses, boat, camping or garden cushions etc.
- Durability 5 - 6 years
RG40 - RG50: 40 - 50 kg/m3 = high-quality to very high-quality and extremely permanently elastic quality for all applications Durability > 6 years
- The compression hardness is measured in pascals, a physical unit of pressure
- The higher the value, the harder the foam.
Foam hardness:
- 30 - 40 hpa = Soft quality for seat and back cushions or soft mattresses (compression hardness 1)
40 - 50 hpa = Standard firmness for seat cushions, firm mattresses, boat, camping or garden upholstery (compression hardness 2)
50 - 60 hpa = Firm seating quality, even for very firm mattresses (compression hardness 3)
